Samsung Galaxy S III Mini specs leaked – disappointingly average

German site MobileGeeks has published a photo and spec sheet of the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini which is due to be unveiled tomorrow.

Rumours about the device were very optimistic, predicting power to rival its bigger brother – but the specifications posted by MobileGeeks are very much mid-range.

Instead of the Exynos quad-core processor of the S III, the Mini will contain a lowly 1 GHz dual-core ST Ericsson U8420 CPU and the WVGA screen was barely high-end 2 years ago.

We’ll have to wait for the official announcement tomorrow, but those hoping that Samsung would have a device to truly compete with the iPhone 5 at the 4″ size look like they will be let down as the trend for top specs at big sizes continues.

Samsung Mobile Communications head JK Shin has confirmed that tomorrow’s announcment in Germany will be for the rumoured 4″ version of the company’s hugely successful Android phone, the Galaxy S III.

Reports have been circulating that the phone will contain the same Exynos chip as its bigger brother, an all important microSD slot, and with the latest Jelly Bean-based version of TouchWiz – all with a smaller 4″ qHD screen and smaller battery.
